xenialpup64-7.5 fails to boot

I have a HP T610 with the N54L processor with 2 GB of DDR3 ram. I have been able to install Slacko64-6.3.2 from a USB stick just fine but I am unable to install Xenialpup64-7.5 on this machine. It will go to the screen where it allows you have some options during the boot but when It tries to load it just locks up the PC. I was quite disappointed because the GUI looked so much nicer than Slacko. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, No I was using Rufus-3.3 and doing a full install I figured since Rufus worked for Slacko it would work for Xenialpup64.

The Universal puppy installer is not going to help me with my problem. Right now Slacko is the only puppy version I can load, The universal puppy installer is only going to be able install Slacko on another drive. I need to find a way to boot into Xenialpup64.

Hi,
I boot xenialpup64 from a USB stick, but it's not a full install, it's a frugal install.
I copy to an empty usb stick this way :
# dd if=xenialpup64-7.5-uefi.iso of=/dev/sdX
X is the letter of the usb stick and can be sdb or sdc or sdd etc. You need to check with pmount which letter it is.
note : all data in usb stick will be erased, so be careful with that command.

I have done allot of reading regarding different types of installations. I ended up just doing a Frugal install of Slacko on the internal 1 GB PSATA SSD. when ever I try to boot the machine on xeialpup64 my machine just locks up. It will run windows 10 64 and even the latest version of Linux Mint 64 XFCE. But not Xenialpup64. Appreciate your help though.

One easy way :

Open ROX
navigate to the directory of the file
right click inside the directory
choose in the menu : window - terminal here
it will open a terminal where you can type the command.

There is a chance the Xenialpup iso you downloaded did not download good.
Re-download just to make sure you got a good one.

Try installing it to a USB flash drive and booting from it, to see if it boots.

However, not all Puppy versions boot OK on all computers.
That is why there are several versions of Puppy.
It is basically a hardware support thing.
What hardware that version of Puppy was made to run on.

Do you know about making sure the USB flash drives partition is flagged boot?
Know how to check for this?
Know how to do it if needed?
