Image viewing problem (SOLVED)

#1 Post by Antipodal »

Season's greetings!!
I have recently received a DVD with body images that were studied with a magnetic resonance scanner.
Clicking on the sr0 DVD icon on my Xenial64-7.5's desktop I get what is shown in the attached file.
Through the README.TXT file I got to know the following data:
Disc Information
  • Disc ID: 024-05673-12913-D-P
  • Media: DVD 1 of 1
  • Recorded on: 22-sep-2017
  • Recorded by: AutoRecord
  • Issued To: Patient Copy
  • Viewer: Clarity English
  • Jpeg Content: No
System Information
  • Software v5.0.0
Through the help.pdf file I can access the Clarity Viewer User's Manual which in its Overview chapter specifies the System Requirements and Required Software. (Please, take a look at it. It will only take a few seconds)
Because I want to see the images while using Xenial64-7.5 OS and my information technology knowledge is quite poor I have thought that the only way to achieve that is downloading and using the wine packages that the Puppy Package Manager can provide me.
But I have been overwhelmed by the number and variety of wine related packages that PPM is offering me.
Is there a simpler way of seeing these images using Xenial but not wine?
If not, can somebody please tell me, specifically and in detail, which are the wine packages I should download?

Thank you in advance

there is a substitute for the viewer program...I have tested it in Bionic64 but it should work in Xenial64 as well.

Open the Puppy Package Manager and in the search bar type/paste
the name Aeskulap and let the PPM find it. Now install it.
then look for the Aeskulap in the Menu->Graphics or open a terminal and type aeskulap (notice the small "a")

This program will read your MRI DVD.

I hope all is well. May the road rise with you

@rockedge
Thank you for your message.
It enclosed an easy recipe that solved my problem.
I only had to deal with one package.
