Oh please, rufwoof.
Nothing new here. That's simple acoustics. If you reverse the flux from a speaker you
have a microphone. Any musician or even any lay person who digged into the subject
of electronic music a bit or followed a course in acoustics knows that.
That reminds me of some urban folklore we had perhaps 15 years ago in this capital
city: agents from CSIS were supposedly roaming the streets of the Ottawa area in
a minivan to record those hard disk "sound waves" in search of God knows who or
what.
How much is a journalist paid per word? IMO, that article is just a filler, and the journalist
needed the money.
BFN.

Heard you the first time musher Nice to have the confirmatory written English translation however
Interesting from the point that academically (University of Michigan computer scientist Kevin Fu and his colleagues) they've actually performed it in practice. And "in another test, they showed that music played nearby could be recorded with high enough fidelity that the music recognition app Shazam could successfully identify the song".

Although theoretical intrusions are possible in labs and cause millions of tonnes of e-waste each year it has always been much more practical to use for example the gateways provided by microsoft in their systems from 1998 to around the Vista era to do damage or snoop.
HDMI allows two way video traffic on the latest TVs plus internet is compulsory to use the attached device....easy to record you on yer xbox on yer cosy sofa now
Why pick a high security lock to a bricked up doorway when the back door is wide open
As for a cost effective studio quality mic using old hard drives then I am interested...

Big data, where those wearing tin hats are conspicuous by their absence in one set of big data and become a primary point of focus within other sets of big data on the assumption that they're trying to hide something bad.
If you're the only one not showing a cellphone signal in a big crowd, the camera are more inclined to focus in on your movements.
Electronic payments, facial and vehicle licence plate recognition, along with internet and phone activity is encompassing enough to reduce state control of people down to bytes. The UK is a world leader in that state surveillance/control, to the extent that the state is even considering simplifying tax reporting to it informing you of your tax liabilities (pre-completed tax return sent out for you to validate/sign).

Do not talk while using computer
Turn the computer off.
Completely shut down power to computer. Power strip off/on switch.
Problem solved!

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
