Running an older version of ROX-filer version 2.11 (Quirky beaver 64), believe newer version have a separate move to trash option. Is there a setting where when I delete a file it goes into trash by default rather than complete erase?

thanks,

No. Delete in Rox is delete.

In Bionicpup64 8.0
If Rox, if you fight click on a file.
In the right click menu, there is an option for trash.
That moves it to trash.

Not sure if this is in other Puppy versions.

If you right click a file and click "Open With" there may be an option to Trash.

If there is not a Trash option you can add it by right clicking a file (like a txt file), click "Open With", click "Customize". Drag the desktop Trash icon into the SendTo folder.

You can easily make you own Trash folder. You can create it in your save file (for example, in /root/) or outside the save file (for example, in /mnt/home/).

Open a rox filer window showing where you want to put your Trash dir, right click in the window then click New, Directory, name it whatever you want. You can drag your new dir to your desktop. Now you can drag a file or files or a folder or folders to your Trash icon and select "Move" to move what you selected to your Trash folder.
