Why buy a computer preinstalled with Linux when you can easily install Linux on any computer? Here are some reasons:

A computer with Windows always has an extra cost for the Windows license. You can avoid that.
Computers preinstalled with Linux are well-tested for hardware compatibility. You can be sure that your system will have WiFi and Bluetooth working instead of figuring these things on your own.
Buying Linux laptops and desktops supports Linux indirectly. More sale indicates that there is a demand for Linux products and thus more vendors may incline to provide Linux as a choice of operating system.

If you are looking to get a new Linux laptop, let me suggest you a few manufacturers and vendors that provide ready-to-use Linux systems.

If Ubuntu comes as the installed OS on a computer.
It should be setup with all that is needed.

I am not so sure you will save that much money, if any, by having Linux instead of Windows 10.

Dell's web site does not make it easy to compare prices with Windows 10 or Ubuntu.
In fact, I never did get a laptop showing it had Ubuntu.
Maybe I missed something in making a selection.

The Linux OS's (including the latest versions of Puppy) seem to be very good at having the support for new computers.

I have a very new laptop, that was the Windows answer to a Chromebook. It had Windows 10s on it.
By the price of the laptop, I think Windows 10s was free form Microsoft. The trick was, only stuff from the Microsoft store could be installed.

Deleted Windows 10s and installed Bionicpu64 8.0
All the hardware was supported OTB.
Only issue is a few of the special keys not working.
But, those functions are controlled in Bionicpup in other ways, so it still is working, just not by the special key.

Many of the low end used computers on ebay have had hard drive removed "for security reasons", so doubt any extra charge for having come with windows installed. Get kick seeing some talk about how some computer still has XP or Vista COA label and code on it.....

Not sure how many people are all that thrilled to have any operating system installed. You buy a new windows computer and it comes with all kinds of crapware you then have to spend hours removing. Some of it built into windows so not removable, least by normal measures.

Anybody remember the netbooks from decade ago that came with some horrible version linux nobody ever heard of. Guess it was just to escape windows fee, they didnt expect anybody to try and actually use it.
