Running the latest BionicPup64, seems to work fine, except for a minor problem. I have a USB SD card reader, when I put in a SD card (from digital camera), it does not get recognized by pmount with refreshing. BUT if I remove and reinsert the USB (not the SD card) dongle than I can read my SD card. Should there be a daemon that recognizes as soon as a SD card is inserted in the USB dongle?
any help will be appreciated.

Try booting Bionicpup64 with the USB SD card reader plugged in with a SD card in it.
Is SD card showing, with a drive icon on the desktop?
If yes.
Remove the SD card.
Does the drive icon disappear?
Stick it back into the card reader.
What happens?
Pup-Sysinfo>Devices>USB Devices>Summary

I rebooted with SD card in USB dongle attached. It show up as a desktop icon, BUT when I remove the SD card with USB dongle attached it does NOT disappear (seems to only see the USB dongle but not the SD). It DOES disappear if I remove the whole USB dongle.

I was hopping the Pup-Sysinfo would show the manufacture and model of this USB SD card reader.
Has it ever been able to do as you want?
Should be a listed feature in the readers specs.
Have you got specific information on make and model or the specific features info?

Your issue sounds almost exactly like the one that I had with re-assigning mount-points to an external, PCI-e mounted USB 3.0 Seagate Expansion drive, when re-awakening from 'sleep' mode. This is on a desktop, not a laptop, so the usual acpi stuff doesn't apply.
I had complete success with the issue by following, and using, jafadmins tutorial and script/.pet, etc, for implementing 'udev-rules'. Have a look here, and see if this will solve your problem:-

All it does is to create a permanent 'mount-point' for any given drive within Puppy's own file-system. I think it makes use of the drive's UUID.....the unique identifier that is a part of every drive's identity as presented to the OS. And it will always recognise the drive after that, regardless of which port you plug the drive into.
