Hi All,
A couple of years ago I published Portable Wine version 2.1.6, http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 452#971452. Later, as it did not function properly under Bionicpup, I published Portable Wine version 3.3_v2.1, http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 245#989245. That version works well with all modern Puppies and those Puppies as old as Slacko 5.7. I don't run older Puppies so don't have any idea whether version 2.1.6 is necessary.
Both versions are housed at mediafire.com which offers free hosting. I consider mediafire to be a reliable company and do not want to abuse its generosity. Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing how many times anything I've posted there have been downloaded.
Please let me know if removing the version 2.1.6 from mediafire will inconvenience anyone. If not, I'll remove it next month.
Intention to delete Portable Wine version 2.1.6

I installed portable wine 3.3 yesterday on a machine running tahrpup 6.0.6 (32 bit). I have encountered two problems and would like some advice.
1. I need to install msjet40.dll. I have tried copying it into the system32 folder, but it does not get recognized by my program (AB2000.exe). I also tried copying it to the program's folder, but that didn't work either even though I used winecfg to add an override. I would try using winetricks, but I have not been able to get winetricks to run properly. If I run it from within the portable wine GUI, it runs, but when I press OK (no matter what boxes I check) it simply closes. If I try using winetricks directly from puppy, it says "wineserver not detected". SOLVED: Zenity was not installed so it tried to use YAD.
2. Using the right-click menu of the wine icon, I can open a windows command prompt, but I am unable to type into it; no keystrokes are detected. Solved: I'm an idiot; I didn't move the cursor into the command window.

Mornin', Mike.
2.16-portable is now mirrored at my MediaFire a/c, too.....plus I've got copies on my external 'back-up' HDD as well. Multiple redundancy, y'see?

RE: downloads from MediaFire. Actually, that's an easy one, Mike. All you need to do is hover your cursor over the individual item, and you get a tool-tip appear, giving the file-size, & number of times the item in question has been downloaded.
It's also in very faint, grey type between the file-name and the clipboard 'link button', but I find the first method easiest to read!

XVidCap and Fred's GIF-creator make a very useful combination..!
