I installed MAME via PPM (I'm using DPupBuster64 8.0.0). It's version 0.211. And you can find roms for that specific version here.

Freeciv - strategy game like the all-time classic Civ2

DOOM2 - using DOOM .wad file with a program like zandronium

Numpty Physics - physics based puzzle game

Cave Story - fantastic old-school 2D platformer

Then there is Itch.io - lots of free or paid indie games there... Can search for games that support Linux..

Itch games are usually bundled nicely, work most of the time in Puppy, and are usually about 100mb or so.

https://itch.io/games/free/platform-linux - free linux games

Some examples of nice games on Itch.me:

- https://matek.itch.io/lowpolis - low poly city builder game

- https://steelraven7.itch.io/ravenfield - low poly 3d first-person shooter, with tanks, helicopters, etc

...etc
