Subject description: suitable puppy

My post was to see if anyone here has had any experience with an X205TA. I've used many different Pups over the last few years and can follow instructions and hints. But experimenting and testing is not my forte as I don't know how to code what needs to be done.
The Atom will boot and run on ubuntu based distros, although not all features work.
Puppy Linux is the nicest OS I've ever run, and it's users here are the most helpful and respectful community I've ever seen. I hope I can get back to using Puppy on this box.

Otherwise I'll have to smash it and buy a more compatible rig. <g>

I have sent you a PM. Whatever problems you had in Ubuntu (like audio) won't be any better in Puppy.

I have seen these Atom-based units. I ended up plugging in an external USB sound card adapter to solve the audio problem.

The only way to know is just try a Puppy version.
Put a Puppy version on a USB flash drive.
Try booting with that flash drive.

Any of the latest versions of Puppy, are best to try.

When you get a Puppy version booting on the computer.
We can try and work out any problems.

What operating system was originally on the computer is a big clue as to what the bios is setup to run?
If it had any kind of Windows OS.
Should be no problem for Puppy.
The bios is a normal one (legacy or UEFI).

I got Puppy booting on a ChromeBook.
I am using it to post this.
It had Chrome OS on it and a bios setup to only boot Chrome.
A simple hack of the bios and Puppy will also boot on it.
Only issue I still have is audio.
It is a bios issue, but I can live with no audio.
They are still working on a good hack of the bios to get audio working.

I got Bionicpup64 8.0 to boot on a laptop with similar setup as yours. A different processor.
It had Windows 10 on it.
Bionicpup64 8.0 booted with no problem and all works, except some of the special keys. Puppy has other stuff in it that does what those keys do. So Puppy will do everything.
If I took the time to find the answers. I could probably get all the special keys working.
