107 could not write the session to the DVD-R disk

#1 Post by RobertG »

I downloaded and burned puppy-multisession-1.0.7 this morning. I burned using a DVD-R from a puppy-multisession-1.0.6 live disk on a DVD-RW disk. The 1.0.7 booted just fine and I loaded my sessions from the 1.0.6 disk. every thing worked perfectly untill I logged off. I could not write the session to the DVD-R disk??? I could boot the disk and reload my additional info from the 1.0.6 disk, but it still refuses to write the session to the DVD-R. Also, I have not been able to get my printer to work - I have a HP 1350 "All in One printer scanner - is there drivers for this printer scanner??

If I can solve these two problems puppy will be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

For what it's worth, 107 Puppy multisession DVD-RW seems to save sessions for me. Maybe you were saving a lot of stuff at once. Multisession Puppy seems to have a problem with that. Try using the "Save" icon on the right side of the screen before you shut down, instead of depending on the automatic save feature when you shut down.

Getting HP PSC 1350 printing

This link will provide info about required driver in linux
http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml

Whereas this link....
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.p ... l+scanning

.......will take you to where others are working to get their HP printer/scanners working in puppy. The first link shows that you will need to install the hplip (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) driver (supercedes the hpoj driver). It was developed by HP to support a vast number of their equipment. It provides support for HP DJ3320 protocol? , which is used for your all-in-one and for PSC 1210 series and PSC 1310 series, as well as others.

You will need to install cups to get it to work and cups needs perl installed. There is a solution to installing cups here......
