Gaim does Yahoo messenger.
But if you want the real thing, the following thread appeared the other day. It's not a dotpup, but it should be all you need to get it installed.

Tried gaim many times. It never connected to Yahoo at all. Just sits there.

i connect to yahoo using Gaim ... it seems to work ok ... it will even transfer files
