Problems with SCSI Emulation

#1 Post by Bruce B »

I'm running version 1.0.3 with and IDE CD burner. I enabled scs_emul_on in the cd/dvd setup wizard so I could use gcombust.

Then I couldn't use cdplay. After trying a few things I found this worked:

cdplay -c /dev/hdd

Then I discovered that ripperX would give an error and just hang. Again, I played around with the settings and found if I enabled 'force search for drive', ripperX works like a charm.

Maybe it is just some quirks with my computer or maybe it is more universal than that. In any event, maybe this info will help someone else.

Just taking a guess..

I suppose once scsi emulation is enabled for a device the scsi subsysten takes over for that device.

Could be more of a bug in the applications rather that scsi emul.
