I am on it as well... on a laptop from 2008 lol
It runs very 'light', which is what this old lappie needs.

I think it is the best Puppy around at the moment.
It does not have release status though.

You're on it as well? Then it must be the best.

Did it default to Nvidia or Intel? (No particular reason except curiosity) :)

Have fun!

This only applies to laptops.
Desktop computers work totally different, if they have integrated Intel graphics hardware and ATI or Nvidia hardware.

Laptops with duel graphics hardware.
They all have Intel processors that have Intel graphics built into the processor.

They will also have a ATI or Nvidia graphics card.

The idea is the computer runs on the Intel graphics for normal stuff.
Switches to the other graphics hardware for the heavy demand graphics.
Takes special software for this to work.

Puppy Linux does not have the needed setup, to be able to do this swapping.
So, Puppy uses only the Intel graphics.
With Intel graphics and the Intel i915 Linux driver, that runs it.
Intel is constantly working on the i915 driver, because the Intel graphics hardware is constantly changing.
What Intel graphics hardware the i915 driver supports.

As you have seen. The older i915 driver in Slacko 6.3.2, did not support the Intel graphics hardware, in your processor.
The Intel i915 driver in Slacko 6.9.9.9 does.
Some of it, also has to do with what Linux kernel is being used.
What hardware support is in the kernel.

Note:
Any of the newer Puppy versions should support the newer Intel graphics.

Do not get to upset, by having a graphics card, in the computer, that Puppy does not use.
Unless this is a really high end, added graphics card, from ATI or Nvidia.
The Intel graphics is probably giving you the same features and ability.
Intel has finally gotten some good graphics hardware.

Intel HD 520 is equivalent to a GeForce 820m.
So not much different to a Geforce 950m.
So you do give up a little by Puppy not being able to use the Geforce 950m.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
