Problem downloading Puppy

#1 Post by subhas »

How do I download Puppy?
I have tried to download puppy and every time I could download only partially.
The site shows the puppy was of about 70 MB.
But my downlad stopped once after 19 MB once at 27 MB and third time it stopped at 33 Mb.
When I tried to run the burned image of 33 MB it said booting failed.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Why cannot I download puppy completely.
I will be thankful if somebody please help me out of my predicament and help me in downloading puppy.
Thanks.

subhas,

you don't say how you are trying to download the iso, i.e. are you using a download manager that can resume broken downloads?

if you're using windows you could use a program like flashget, or similar. on linux the commandline utility wget will download the iso with:

wget -c whatever.url/pupversion.iso

also it's always a good idea to check the md5sum of the downloaded iso, before burning, to make sure it downloaded correctly.

Thanks.

As suggested by you I have downloaded puppy using FlashGet.
I have burned it and now can use it as a live cd.
But I cannot connect to net using live puppy cd.

When I was using Knoppix it correctly recognised my network connnection and there was no problem in connecting.
I have ethernet connection with ADSL router.

Kindly let me know how do I configure network connection so that I can surf the net using puppy.

Regards.
