HD bottlenecks on bootup

#1 Post by Lobster »

I have been able to isolate one of my HD bottlenecks on bootup

What seems to sometimes happen is this. For one reason or another my ethernet DHCP is not working. Rather than accepting this (as previous versions did) RC 1.0.2 keeps trying to force or establish a connection - if it is not there

Should "go on" be the default . . . ?

So after attempting to create a full duplex 100mbs (whatever that is) for 15 secs or so it fails and I have to run the ethernet wizard (usually several times) to establish a connection anyway.

Tsk tsk . . .

Full duplex is a two-way communication channel, sending and receiving data at the same time. Half-duplex is send and receive, but not both simultaneously. Simplex is one-way, send or receive only. :)
