JPilot as a dotpup?

#1 Post by Walt H »

I was wondering whether anyone had tried/considered creating a JPilot dotpup. Although it is designed to sync up with your PDA, it also works well as a stand-alone calendar, appointments, contacts application. I used to use it all the time when I ran Feather Linux.

As far as I can tell, Puppy has the necessary GTK and glib files for compiling JPilot. The web site says that pilot-link is also required, but this may only be required for syncing with your PDA (can't remember). Together, the two files are about 2.1 mb in size (big by Puppy standards, perhaps), but it does have a nice look (as I recall) and the appearance can be changed to some degree.

I haven't tried myself to make a dotpup yet and don't feel I quite up to it (perhaps when 1.0.5 comes out :) ), but I'd certainly love to see this if someone felt like tackling it. Thanks.

Now that you point it out to me, the answer seems painfully obvious.
