2.02 hangs at "modprobe ndiswrapper" (fixed by 2.1

#1 Post by paulh177 »

acer 5612wlmi, 80gb hdd, 1024mb ram, shared video, winxp home + puppy
created a new ext2 partition and installed puppy 2.02.
mostly ok except i'm trying to run wireless discovery and setup and every time i get to "modprobe ndiswrapper" the whole installation hangs and has to have a hard reset.
i had booted from live cd before the install and ran this sequence with no problems ...
any thoughts please?

i may be way offbase, but your install may be the issue, i've been told that ext3 is the better partition type, and based on that you might try reformating your partition and reinstalling.

on the other hand i had real trouble with hdd installs till 2.10 came out, then my hdd install troubles went away, so you might want to download 2.10, or 2.11.
so much to learn, so late a start.
