How to adjust time, change backgrounds in KDE ?

#1 Post by mjg »

I'm using Puppy 2.12 with KDE. Everything works fine except for two little gremlins.

The taskbar shows the wrong time. Using "adjust date & time" doesn't work because the time is correct there, just not in display.

I also can't change the desktop background through control centre or desktop configuration. I've selected an image but the background stays a default blue.

Apart from that everything is great.

BTW I'm using KDE mini.sfs. I renamed the file to 2.12. I had the same problems before in other Puppies anyway.

I've tried only one puppy with KDE (with which I'm quite familiar) and found several odd things. It was more of an interest thing to try KDE on puppy really.

However, does your version come with Barry's location/time zone and setting date and time wizards? If so, have you tried them?

And have you tried Barry's desktop changing wizard either?

I think much of KDE is disabled.
