Zip Pup 1.0.1 changed: no wallpaper; cursor an "X"

No wall paper appear on the screen after bootup plus the mouse cursor "X" not an arrow...I tried left click on the desktop Modules save Desktop does not work. I tried to change the wallpaper by Control Panel+Desktop Background Image and reboot..still no wallpaper.

I've got Puppy 1.01 on zip drive. The above problem happened after I tried to run the Zip Puppy from another computer. It works before that.

Deleting the following files from the /root/.etc folder will force puppy to ask for the hardware configuration again.
/root/.etc/keyboardtype
/root/.etc/keyboardmap
/root/.etc/mousedevice
/root/.etc/mousebuttons
/root/.etc/videomode

here are the commands:

rm /root/.etc/keyboardtype
rm /root/.etc/keyboardmap
rm /root/.etc/mousedevice
rm /root/.etc/mousebuttons
rm /root/.etc/videomode


Then restart puppy (or restart the window manager you are using)
