DCOPserver Error

#1 Post by re4merz »

Recently installed synce. All dependencies check out. when i run ksync it returns this error.

"There was an error setting up inter-process communication for KDE. The message returned by the system was:

'Could not read network connection list.
/root/ .DCOPserver_puppypc--0

Please check that the 'dcopserver' program is running!

How do I check if the dcopserver is running? And if it's not, how do i start it?

thx

If it wasn't - Kde would crash-

I think dcopserver is launched by kdeinit.

kdeinit --new-startup +kcminit_startup

This I use to start kicker from KDE made with mkkde, if I want to rn KDE-applications without having started the whole KDE-desktop..

I found this line after some tests in the script startkde, if I remember well.

I've not had any luck with ksync. Calling it quits for now.

Thanks,
