apps that worked in 109ce but not 212

Old Itronix Laptop dual booting win98 and puppy109ce, 266megahtz, 128 meg ram. Bought another identical untested laptop with damaged screen. Laptops have no cd or floppy drives. Took the hard drive out of first laptop, installed in #2, and everything worked in laptop # 2. Put hard drive #2 in desktop and installed win98 and (though I could not get puppy106 or 202 to boot in #1) installed puppy 212. Put hard drive
#2 into laptop#1 and windows and puppy booted properly.

LAN networking and most other applications worked except wireless and wmpower. I tried the rtl8180 dot-pup but could not get it to work (it wouldn't work on 109ce either). I tried ndiswrapper and the windows driver (PMCIA realtek with rtl8180 chipset) and can't seem to get it work. The card and driver work on Windows98 (and with ndiswrapper on 109ce).
Wpower worked on 109ce but not 212. Same laptop different hard drive?

Any suggestions appreciated
