"Kernel panic - VFS" (Multi-booting 2.12 with GRUB)

#1 Post by mevering »

Hi, all.

I'm trying to triple boot puppy 2.12 with Ubuntu and Fedora Core 4. However, when I do a hard disk install, and then modify grub from Ubuntu, puppy will not start and gives me a message saying "kernel panic - VFS" Any body have any ideas on what this is?

Thanks

Make sure your puppy grub entry look something like this (with your right partions, drive, title, etc..)

title Puppy HD

rootnoverify (hd0,2)

kernel (hd0,2)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 PMEDIA=idehd

initrd (hd0,2)/boot/initrd.gz

boot
