Hello,

since Sunday I make very good experiences with Puppy Linux. It's a great thing and the first Linux wich run on my USB Pendrive (128 MB). But I had to install within Windows using Syslinux 3.09.
However, now I'm looking for pixmaps (i.e. Opera) for my convenience.

Where can I get Pixmaps, not for Puppy only.

Thank You

Klaus

Hi,

After I downloaded Opera 8.01, I opened the folder that said images - see the attached printscreen - that was inside the Opera folder that was generated after I untarred (I think that's the corrrect terminology) it.

The other programs that I've either downloaded or opened one way or another have all had icons .... sometimes they are rather hard to find, due, I believe, to the way program pieces are divided up in Linux.

What do you mean 'Pixmaps'. ?

Don't get me wrong, I know what a pixmap is. I'm just wondering if you asked for the right thing.

Do you need Icons? Desktop Images? a Pixmap gallery for a presentation?

The initial body of Pixmaps can be found in /usr/share/pixmaps.
However, other packages put things in other places.

Easiest way to find things within the Puppy file system is to use the FindUtils Roxapp. ( it's in the additional software section somewhere ). Once it's set up you just open an rxvt window and type 'locate pixmap'. Finds all the ones on your system instantly. Genius application Very Happy
