dual boot, Puppy and DSL

#1 Post by nubc »

I first set up and installed Puppy 2.13 on this 10.2 GB Maxtor hdd, ext3 partition hda1. Then I used Puppy 2.13 live CD to access GParted, and I made a 2.5 GB ext3 partition for installing DSL 3.2. I installed DSL 3.2 on the new partition, hda3. I believe the Puppy partition is booting with grub. As I recall, I installed grub to the MBR, whatever the default location is. All that is left to do is to modify grub to handle the dual boot. I want Puppy to be the first choice in boot options. Furthermore, if it is possible, I want either boot option (Puppy or DSL) to use the same Linux swap partition of ~500 MB located at the end of the hdd, partition hda5. Please give me detailed instructions for setting up this dual boot, especially the complete edit of grub to dual boot DSL 3.2. Is it possible for both operating systems to use the same swap partition?
