Error - in French! - when booting USB drive

Hello, When i boot from the usb I get the following error (written in french): "Err. Disque Pressez une touche pour demarrer." The computer is american. The only french thing may be my usb drive. What should I do. Should I get another usb drive? Thank you. Alex |

Maybe get a translator 
In Puppy terminal, command "cfdisk /dev/sda1" (or whatever is the name of your USB drive), and check if it is bootable - there must be "boot" shown along with the partition (USB must not be mounted in Puppy when you do this). Activate that boot (if not active yet), then Write (save). Reboot PC then install Puppy to USB. See the link below for example view of cfdisk. _________________ Puppy user since Oct 2004. Just for info
Means "Disk error, hit a key to continue" So your bios is not recognizing the drive, so indeed check partition type, if it's bootable,... Or hardware problem??? |

Could you share what make and model computer this is? What brand and model USB stick? Also, if the usb device is indeed bottable, what option in the bios are you using to boot the stick? USB-HDD, USB-ZIP, or just USB (depending on the age of the system's bios). I bet the system has a legacy motherboard, hence the French bios message? _________________ I love it when a plan comes together --Hannibal Smith |
