Suggestions on wireless card....

#1 Post by basslord1124 »

Ok, I am thinking of picking up a wireless card for my laptop (probably PCMCIA...not USB) and I was wondering if you all had some recommendations on particular chips that work best. I have Puppy 2.13 at the moment, but just downloaded the 2.14 iso last night (and I am about to burn it). I probably won't jump the gun to put 2.14 on my laptop until I get a heads up on this question first. So any help would be appreciated....

the latest rt73 driver works fine for my USB-stick.
dlink GL122 , but important:
it must be revision C1.
You must open the package to watch the bottom of the stick.

Advantage of a USB-stick attached via cable:
you can move it to the best position without moving the notebook.

I just ordered one actually.

Basically I just went through some of the wireless modules built into Puppy and picked one that would fit it. I ended up picking up one with a Broadcom chipset. Guess we will see how it does when it gets here.
