How to add files to /root when remastering Puppy?

#1 Post by john biles »

Hello BarryK and others in the know.
How and What do I edit to stop the "Remaster Puppy Live-CD, Simply" Package
for removing "added folders and files" from "root" while burning a new iso.

While it doesn't matter if I add icons to say "usr" as they are added to my new iso, anything that is added to "root" isn't added to the new iso.

There are files in "root" I need to change in the new iso I'm making.

Have you tried "Dougal enhanced remaster CD, simple"? Works very well for me.

Dougal's gives you the option of using a pristine /root or using the /root you have set up. Sounds to me like that is what you need.

It should be available from the PetGet downloader. If you are using a regular version of 2.13 to build from, it is already installed. It was taken out of PuppyLite. If you can't find it on PetGet, post again and I will find it on ibiblio and post a link.
