How can icons be added or removed form the start menu (within the default windows manager) ?

In fvwm95, the default wm in Puppy, if you open .fvwm95rc and scroll through to the sections you are looking for you can comment out the icon entries that you wish to remove from the startup menu.

.fvwm95rc is a hidden file in /root.
