I have a really good commercial

#1 Post by Fiberflinger »

Emagine this:

The TV screen shows a meeting room with about 25 people sitting at chairs and a man at the podium says, "this is OS Annomous and we welcome you", "Are there any new members here tonight".

3 people raise their hands.

The first one gets up and introduces himself "Hello everyone, I am Mac, and I am an OS"

Crowd says, Hello Mac and cheers.

The second person holding a dog in his arms gets up and says "Hello everyone, I'm Linux and this is my puppy"

Crowd goes wild, says Hello Linux.

The third person gets up and says "Hello everyone, I'M Windoze and I'm an OS".

The other two new comers welcomes him and says Hello Windoze.
There is silence from the crowd.

ideally, this is what the elections will be like later this year.

everyone will acknowledge the pros and cons of each of the wonderful people running, and instead of trying to choose one over the other, we simply will agree to let bernie, hillary, trump and (cruz?) run the country together.

when the constitution is violated, civilian death tolls rise, and the economy is in shambles, we will focus our attention not on petty disagreements or holding anyone reponsible, but instead have a conversation about how nice the campaign was.

that would be serious progress, and everyone would be happy. unfortunately the world is full of trolls and they are ruining our chances for this political utopia.

wait, i have a solution-- lets smear them and insult their intelligence until they are forced by their peers to agree. thats obviously the way forward. at least its what we are going to do now-- but its all for the big-picture of everyone agreeing and putting this contention aside, right? its not actually to perpetuate and stir up the same old arguments? oh, good-- you had me worried there :)

You seem to be implying that pay more money = get a better product, and that no one works on things for free out of love for free software and sharing fun things (Barry Kauler for example). I guess you are a fan of Apple then?
