Autostart won't run start-up applications

I'm having a problem with both the auto-start applications. Autostart manager will let me add commands and they'll run, but close rdesktop (the program I'm trying to run) as soon as puppy completely loads the window manager. Start-items.pup won't even run. It'll extract but when I try to run start-items, it doesn't do anything.

The Start-Items.pup is for a much older version of Puppy. I have however just rewritten it. I have not yet packaged it, but I should be able to zip it up and post it. You would have to edit your start .xinitrc file manually though.
