I tried out the alpha pup - the one you can compile an application.
I copied the usr_devx.sfs to home.
on bootup pup finds the file ok but states it appears to be foreign and will use the usr_devx.sfs file from CD.
has anyone else had this happen ?
Alpha pup (1.0.5a) doesn't recognize usr_devx.sfs file

You seem to be mixed up with the usr_cram.fs file.
usr_cram.fs is different thing entirely.
usr_devx.sfs has to be downloaded from www.nstsoftware.com/puppy
and placed in /mnt/home/ ...when Puppy is running, as long as the partition
/mnt/home isn't NTFS, then all should be fine.
