I do not see a driver for this printer. Does anyone know of a substitute? Can I use the driver which HP produces for the Max X?
Are drivers for Max X installed with CUPS or ?
Thanks for help.
Driver suggestion for HP Desk Jet D4160?
ghost,
see here:

they say that hpijs works partially with your printer. they also mention that it might work fully on non-suse systems
if you want to try hpijs it's available here, (maybe also hplip) :

Muggins to the rescue.
Thanks. I have downloaded part of this. I will have to learn how to make it executable. I also see that I will probably have to learn how to create a dot pup to get CUPS going. Later this week I will hike up the University and get a copy of the the compile environment.
I have spent time trying to install init strings into the modem dialer. So far the dialer is resistant to allowing me change the AZT to anything else. ha ha ha ha. Dialer still gets on if I change the speed of the serial port.
