Does Puppy have a PDF reader?

#1 Post by jacatone »

I downloaded the Puppy manual so I could follow it as I had Puppy up and running. It's in my hda1 Windows partition but when I mount this drive in Puppy it's not there. Is there some kind of hide folders feature I need to configure or does Puppy not have a PDF reader to recognize it? Thanks.

Your .pdf files will open with gsview.
If not, try typing "gsview" in a console and open it from there.

it crashed with several PDFs in Puppy 212, so I use epdf instead:

Or Acrobat 5:

I downloaded Foxit reader for Linux

http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/desklinux/

I use it at work because it doesnt have as much extra stuff as Acrobat.
I dont know how to make it default in PizzaPup but it opens downloaded PDF's

I like Foxit pdf reader, it is small and fast. I saw your link and decided to download it, yikes it is a twenty minute download on dial-up. Have not had any problems with the pdf reader in Puppy so I think I will stay with it rather than use limited time downloading Foxit. Thanks for providing link, others will find it useful.

I'd like to know if ghost view can be set up so that pages don't come up 1 ata time; so that one can just scroll down if there are multiple pages.

Also, being the curious sort, how did the app get the name ghost view or what's it about  :?:
