My sound card is not detected My System is an amd 2600+ with asus a7vmx motherboard with via chipset when booting with puppy

Just to clarify a few things, what soundcard do you have, what version of Puppy are you running?
The more information you can put forward the better .

Yes, is it the;
A7V400-MX (SoundMax audio)
A7V8X-VM (SoundMax audio)
A7V266-MX? (AD1980)
Looks like all SoundMax.
This is a problem with the OSS drivers, whioh do not support this audio card.
