How to use Desktop-icontheme-chooser ?

Hi! I just stumbled across 'Desktop-icontheme-chooser', which is very helpful, but might be outdated, (?) at least for pup 214

After reboot however, no matter what theme I currently have it reverts to 'DITheme MarkUlrich'

After selecting a new theme, the /usr/local/lib/X11 icons change respectivelly. However, the icons in /usr/local/bin (which are those of the 'DITheme MarkUlrich') remain unchanged.

Perhaps this is the problem, or perhaps the solution is way more simple (?)

It was written in Puppy1 for Rox 1.2.

Puppy2 uses different folders, so the program had to be rewritten.
No time at moment for that
