Come on now what is the clear choice for Viz?

Vote now for Beta 2 Browser

I voted for SeaMonkey for the sole reason that it has been provided as an integrated suite in v2 up til now except for the option v2.02 Opera (which didn't work for me anyway).

This would mean a minimum of fuss in upgrading to 2.15ce and it would ensure email and other settings didn't have to be converted to other applications.

The old adage of "Keep it Simple, Stupid" (KISS) lol

I've run 2.15ce live for several hours and the Opera in it is good. I have no complaint about choice of browser.

I note some folk have had a problem with installing. We'll see a bit later if I have that too :)

Working my way through the other posts to add my two bobs' worth. Only one doesn't work and that's the media player app.

Love the rest of it, and full marks to all involved. I'm going to mail a CD copy of this one to friends in the US :)

Richard in steenking hot Adelaide.

I use Opera. I've been using Opera for a few years. I don't even remember when I started using it. I am 100% comfortable with the usability, happy with the small size. Impresed with the themability and used to the interface.

I use it in WIndows and Linux, that's the first thing I install in a new computer or OS instalation. I use it for 90% of my browsing. (The other 10% is IE thanks to stupid web developers that don't know how to program with standards)

And yet... I don't think Opera belongs in an OpenSource Linux distribution. OpenSource should promote OpenSource. Period.

I voted SeaMonkey. But please use a nicer theme than the default one.

I don't see gtkmoz on the list.

Caution: remove Seamonkey and you're going to be paying a visit to Dependency Hell.

Yeah its a real bummer, that. But those people can only design pages when they have a program that does it for them, perhaps?

The real SeaMonkey you can download for MS Windows seems (to me) to look totally different from the SeaMonkey in Puppy, which is more like the old Netscape in many ways.

Richard, in the airconditioning, waiting for the evening :)

I prefer Opera but Seamonkey seems to be the path of least resistance, so I'd say go for it.

im going to wait on downloading msfirefox til it requires 1 terabyte of hd space. no need to waste time with something that will probably need service packs anyway.....  and while im thinking of it hows the beta msopera project coming Bill?

personally i like firefox best. even over opera because it has more useful extensions than opera has widgets.

Thanks to everyone who voted. [irony] Ah democracy - a wonderful thing [/irony]
So Firefox will be in 2.15CE Viz?

No - it will be Seamonkey

but . . . but . . . but . . . :?

Seamonkey was choosen because:
Seamonkey 1.08 works (and has the security bugs added to ver 2.00 backported)
Barry will be using it in 2.20 (yep looks like there will be no 2.16 and some major changes)

- So it works. Reliability.
- Compatibility with past and future Puppys
- Firefox and Opera Puplets will be available as well as easy to install .pet packages
- Integrated software and libraries. Puppy re uses a lot of Seamonkey code in other places.
- Integrated software includes: Mail and Newsgroup Client, Address Book, Composer WYSIWYG HTML

Puppy tries to accomodate but is sometimes too small to have all the favoured options and If it is any consolation I tend to not bother installing another browser . . . SeaMonkey grows on you :)

Sorry to all those who hoped we were going to choose Hv3 or their favourite
