Advanced type dial up stuff?????

#1 Post by BSnapZ »

Hi,
I just installed Puppy 2.15. The dial up software that comes with it doesn't seem to have an option like Windows' 'Re-dial if the line is dropped'.
Is there anything like this around?
Help is very much appreciated!

Both wvdial (comes installed in puppy along with GKdial and Xezenet) and the kppp dotpup allow for this option. I think its even the default setting in the wvdialer. Xezenet also allows for autoredial if I remember, its been long time since I've used it. I dont think GKdial has this option and its the default dialer in Puppy.

My problem is my isp seems to have found a way to make the connection wither on the vine so to speak where I am still showing as being connected but cant surf. Thus forcing me to manually drop the connection and redial. I'd much prefer a nice clean drop so wvdial or kppp can auto reconnect for me.
