Dear puppians,

I am using lenova desktop with model: 8985. Type:A22. It uses the broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet wired network card. Puppy 214 doesn't have default driver for this adapter. Could anybody help me on where to get this driver for puppy.

Its very urgent, kindly help me on getting this soon.

Thanks in advance,
Browny

Are you sure?
According to Google your LAN chipset is the Broadcom "Netlink" BCM5786 which is supported by the "tg3" kernel module. Puppy 2.14 certainly has this module.

Did you try the Network Wizard?
Does lsmod show tg3 as being loaded?
If not, can you manually load tg3 with "modprobe tg3"?

I have a Broadcom NetXtreme gigabit wired ethernet
on a laptop. I can confirm Browny's claim it is NOT working.
tg3 loads, there is an eth0, but it cannot find an alive network.

pupshock, thanks for accurate reporting. The module is there, but not working.
I see on the Broadcom site that there are updated versions of their Ethernet NIC drivers.
I now attach the updated drivers.

Yes tempestuous, puppy has taken my network card by default. While i'm trying first time, i think it may a problem in my puppy installation or may be my mistake. Thank you for your help..

All works fine..
