Hiding folders.

#1 Post by Sirexel »

How I hide a folder?

I have discovered I can do that but puting a DOT just before the folder name.

lost&found -> .lost&found

But I'm in doubt:

1. Would couse this a problem to the system in looking for a known directory?

2. Just with lost&found directory when I put a dot it hides but when Puppy reboot it make a new lost&found directory. (Not the same with other directories).

Thx
Sirexel :)

lost&found is used for undeleting files.....it can be done

I really wouldn't bother hiding it, not really worth the trouble and you don't gain anything by it....Actually not only are you making it hidden but you are also renaming it.

So if a program is looking for /tmp/foo and you change it to /tmp/.foo the program wont find /tmp/foo because /tmp/foo no longer exists
