No nvidia 4 me :-( |
|
I've tried everything I can find on the forums, still can't get the nvidia driver to load. I'm running Puppy 2.15CE? The latest version anyways,,,,lol I've run the nvidiainstall pet.get and edited till I'm blue in the face.
Specs...
HD install on a SYNTAX mb 1.3 gig AMD, 3/4 gig ram, nvidia GE Force4 MMX400 128mb pci card.
I'd love to get this set up right so the scroll will work smoothly in Seamonkey. That drives me nuts,,,,,,lol
I get the dc:stack underflow error from xorgwizard.

You can try:
1. My steps (from Puppy Projects » Beryl):
You must start Puppy with Xorg as xserver, then install and don't restart X or exit to prompt:
mesa-6.5.pup[download here]
NVIDIA-9629-k2.6.18.1.tar.gz [download here] (just extract all files to /)
Then run:
| Code: | depmod
modprobe agpgart
modprobe i2c-core
|
Configure your xorg.conf file with this command:
| Code: | nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals --allow-glx-with-composite --disable-glx-root-clipping --render-accel --composite --depth=24
|
Restart X
Or
2. MU's Nvidia-installer

Or, if you have the devx file installed (and you might need the kernel source), download the driver/installer from Nvidia. Nivida seems to support linux very well.
