Hello!
I m using Puppy on USB thumb flash drive.
Im thinking about making a swap partition on that thumb drive cause i have not much ram memory (256 MB) and always downloading movies my system get in trouble. It s a diskless client here, so i can t make swap on hard drive.
I know that it is not recommended making a swap on flash drive cause write cycles are less than 100 000 possible.
On the other hand i dont use my Puppy verry often.
I dont know?!
What do u think - how long will my Thumb drive with swap work if i run it about 15 hours a week?
Greetings

follow this set of instructions, it shouldnt be too much of a write issue. If your worried, you could always move the swap to the other end of the partition set. Just leave the unpartitioned space infront of your primary in a year or two. That will extend the life of the drive all over again.
