Thanks for this!

This development platform is very friendly to Linux users (free use if developing GPL programs). I wonder if you can recommend a book (if it is necessary at all), or an online course for learning QT?

I tried your Qt 4.2 to configure Vivia video editor. I plonked the 'lib' directory into usr/libs. I already have qt.3.3.6.pet installed and 'qmake' got this far.

/usr/lib/qt/bin/uic AlignSyncMarkersDialog.ui -o .obj/AlignSyncMarkersDialog.h
uic: File generated with too recent version of Qt Designer (4.0 vs. 3.3.6)
make: *** [.obj/AlignSyncMarkersDialog.h] Error 1

After I removed qt.3.3.6 I cant get past 'qmake', it must have been useing 'qmake' from qt.3.3.6.
I would be over the moon if you could knock out a Vivia pup with everything in it that Vivia needs. When configure rolls by in Vivia there are options with 'no' after them, includeing xvid and h264. Does that mean that they are turned off. They are the codecs I would like to use. Thanks in advance. Aung
