Help me!

I have a notebook(NEC VA50) with Creative sound card.
Creative SB PCI 64V (EV1938)

It's no sound in Puppy(1.09,2.02,2.02,2.13,2.14,2.15CE).

Please tell me how to do.

Your ALSA driver is snd-es1938. Try to load it manually -

modprobe snd-es1938

The "modprobe" command loads modules (drivers). Open a terminal window with rxvt, then run the command I mentioned.
If you do not understand this, see the Beginners Help forum, "Index of resources for Beginners Help".

I found this in /tmp/sysinit.log

Code: Select all

Starting sound driver: snd-ens1371 done

/usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:970: failed to obtain info for control #11 (No such file or directory)
and this:

Code: Select all

# cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [AudioPCI ]: ENS1371 - Ensoniq AudioPCI
                      Ensoniq AudioPCI ENS1371 at 0xef00, irq 5
No sound!

how to slove it?
