SMC USB, and/or Xircom PCMCIA network adaptors Subject description: How to get either one to work?
I am presently trying to revive an aging
Dell Inspiron 8000 Laptop. There's lots
of challenges here but one pretty basic one
and that's the Network(eth0) connection.
I have two devices. They are:
SMC: SMC2208USB USB adapter
Xircom: CBE2-100 PCMCIA adapter
I've fiddled with the listing of various
network device drivers on puppy-215CE-Final.iso
and was not successful to get it to set up on the
network ( DHCP ). The SMC adapter is an automatic
HotPlug on both Ubuntu 7.04 and Mandriva 2007.0(1)
Thanks for any suggestions here. _________________ "DISK BOOT FAILURE - INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"
