I today ran 1.0.4 bb from live-cd. In my setup, I just use a usb stick for pup001 to save settings etc. no hdd.
I tryied to install opera 7.54 from Puppy packages site. Gave segmentation fault?
(In 1.0.3 bb it works out of the box..? probably missing/wrong libs?)
Then tryied firefox.. didn`t showed up in selection, so manual download to /root and installed as alien package..
Told me about some missing libs... also gave segmentation fault
The went with dillo to www.opera.com.
Downloaded opera 8.0.2 (other os, tar.gz format!!) to /root.
PupGet will not work here, opera has its own installer!
open a rxvt terminal. you should be already in /root (pwd; cd /root)
tar zxvf opera*
cd opera*
./install.sh
answer all questions with y.
./opera should now start opera 8.02
if you want a desktop link, open rox cd to /usr/bin and drag opera icon to desktop...
