Samsung ML1510 printer

#1 Post by sjay »

I hope someone can help, I've used Puppy for some time but never have been able to get it to print from a usb port.
On my mini ITX system everything is OK and I've worked and printed from it ( BUT using a parallel port (HP laser jet) )
On my main system I'm stuck with a USB samsung ml1510 usb,
I've read all the posts, eventually downloaded the right ppd started localhost 631, cups finds the ppd but after installing it ...nothing!! help please, when I print a test page
It says test page sent but the printer just sits there, when I click "show completed jobs" its says "no completed jobs" also "no active Jobs"
Help

I'd installed successfully the Samsung ML 1610 (on Puppy 215, Puppy 214). There are two driver .ppd files; I'd found that: only one driver worked with my printer, the other wasn't.
You can try to install the ML 1510 with the ML1610 driver?

Thanks for this, I tried but still nothing. When you say there are 2 ppd files where did you get them from? I downloaded from linux-foundation.org
