netcraft's faqs probably explain it better than i could
uptime is how long the server has been running continuously
server availability is how well people can get your web pages
if the server is offline, your web pages are unavailable, but your web pages may be unavailable even if the server is up and running

Can someone give me some advice.
Their "4U" plan at $99 per year looks great, but it has a couple of major
differences from the other plans:
ASP: No
Shell access: Yes
What is the significance of the No on the first one?
Does shell access mean I can telnet to the site? |
No ASP means that it doesn't support Microsoft Active Server pages.
Shell access means that you can SSH into the box, as it happens you can actually create up to 99 shell accounts (and e-mail/web/etc) and even install software (I installed netpbm).
They actually gifted me additional space when the forum was getting out of hand a few weeks ago ... Very nice people.
Cheers

Wow! A fro that is worthy and conserves bandwith! Amazing. The site's cool too, but I don't see the part where it proves the fro worthy. Where is this fro you speak of? Is it on your head? Or is it roaming the streets without a scalp, looking for someone to take it in?

Puppy Linux Foundation Committees weblog |
|
I took the initiative to organize ourselves into committees, using the existing content on the Foundation Wiki page. Today, I've announced the Foundation Committees blog. Have many plans for it, will implement in time, though.
