I've had two occasions in the last few days when I've got IRQ11 disabled warnings. I powered off, disconected from the mains, removed battery, reconnected everything, booted into the BIOS changed someting trivial and restarted.
Everything was fine. It may have been caused by my laptop going into suspend on boot. I'm not sure which bit of my tweaking fixed it.

I think I've tracked this one down.
I was testing firewire support for Dougal and had this happen a number of times.

Patient: IBM Thinkpad X30

Probable Cause: soft reboot with the firewire subsystem loaded.

Remedy of Immediate Symptom: power off, disconnect power, then reboot

Future Avoidance: ensure that the ieee1394 module is unloaded before rebooting
