Hello Sage,
What has occured here is that, when you first requested a package of gperiodic, I've googled, gone to the first entry, and uploaded a .pet of this. This gtk1 version is the one you've downloaded I think.
Later on, I found out that the 2nd google entry, was for a newer gtk2 version. Which I also made into a .pet. I've just booted into pup-3.98 beta, and can confirm the gtk2 one works. It's available here:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 78&t=22217
I've also deleted the gtk1 version & redirected to the gtk2 one.
This is why I wish people would provide links to whatever they request, as they're more likely to know which is the best, &/or, most current version.
Can someone please make a dotpet of Gperiodic?
Sage,
I think you've kept a copy of the gtk1 version of gperiodic, & installed that, rather than the gtk2 version. Try uninstalling, re-download & re-install. Or, acronymically, URR!
(By the way, if you had a working tcl/tk setup on one of your pupversions, you could try this version. The advantage being that it comes with an .xml source file, periodic.xml, and you could add your own notes to it via text editor...hey, what about Sagium?)

Thanks for that, mg - so kind. Frankly, I've no idea what I've got except roomfuls of discarded HW blocking my entry to the drinks cabinet and the Out house, not necessarily in that order.
If you want a box rebuild, I'm your man, but even that last para. of yours has me wondering if I'm in the right division.
Have a beer on me, anyway, mon ami.

PPS. Speaking of the elements, if folks are into commodities investment, might be worth giving Nd, Mn and Li a punt? Co is the other obvious opportunity but politics in DRC and Africa in general leave a nasty taste. Cu is unlikely to wane much, either; they are working leaner and leaner ores daily. Of course, Oz has a nice selection of minerals....
