New Puppy Logo!
New Puppy Logo!
In conjunction with requests to update Puppy's web presence, one of the issues to be addressed was a new logo - with Barry's consent, of course.
I took the initiative and asked a graphic artist named Tim Dunn to design us a logo (for free). Here is Tim's response. I have the others the same but in a choice of colors. Personally I think it's awesome. What do you guys think?
I will shortly post some possible Puppy wallpapers featuring the new logo, including some mirrored text. Enjoy!

The two dots are "glitches" I have now removed. I only noticed them after I posted the image to tinypic.com so I have uploaded a fixed version. Maybe I accidentally put them there when I was viewing the original in GIMP.BarryK wrote:Yes, it definitely looks like a she!
This logo has the advantage of looking very professional.
What are the two dots for at the bottom?
Glad you guys like it/her

OH WOW! WhoDo? This person did a fantabulous job! Very professional indeed! That's a logo that'll look excellent centred ontop of many different types of wallpapers, or shrunk down and placed to the lower-right, etc.
I can't wait to see what comes out of this! Woohoo!
As for name I thought "Fifi" but then realised, "That's more of a poodle's name!"
The more I look at the picture though, despite being somewhat colourblind, I'd say she has a sort of "ginger-colour", right?
So how about "Ginger"?
Okie, y'all can laugh now!
Amicalement,

Why not "Eve"?NathanO wrote:Name Yes!
According to genetics researchers a few years ago every race and tribe in the
world may be traced back to a single female source from northeast Africa.
They were secularists but thought it funny to nickname "her" Eve.
Just think, our Puppy mascot, named after the genetic "mother" of every Linux
user!

Does this one look better?raffy wrote:Nice. The face can benefit from some more depth/3d effect.

" Why not "Eve"? "
Always interesting that if you type up - Barry Kauler - for
an internet search, that EVE Embedded VectorEditor comes up first from
http://www.goosee.com/
so why not use the name Eve as recognition for this previous software gem.

"Eve" is good..
But how about - "Trix" ..
- I think highlights Puppy's new 'tricks' she brings out each litter (version..!! sic..) [ a take on the ABC prog 'New Tricks'.. he.he.he.. ]
Maybe we should have a competition for a name - the winner getting a 'free' copy of "Unleashed CD" for the version that finally gets this logo..- just a suggestion..
Also I'd suggest that the 'name' be placed onto a 2nd (similar shape, color, etc..) tag next to the one with Puppy on it ..
This is looking awesome..
Keep up the good ideas WhoDo..

Excuse me, but I have a different point of view
It's simple: They doesn't looks like a puppy(both), it looks like an older one
And, have you seen this? it looks more like Vincent(the new real puppy)

Don't forget Puppy also use the good looking paw image as seen in the menu button and wallpapers; but I still like rastapax's logo better, it looks puppy (not grown up dog), clean, modern. I just hope rastapax could make a circle-glass version so it'll suitable for the menu button as well as icon.

I really like Rastapax one: simple, efficient.
MU's one is good too, but if the edges were straighten, maybe it would convert in my prefered one.
Whodo, yours is really nice, but, I think it doesn't follow the trend "simple is better"...

They look a lot like the dog on the PBS show called Wishbone.

rastapax's
Rastapax's design look simple, attractive and very friendly.
I just wonder if the eyes can be made both dark (the incline of the head is OK). Somehow I miss something about the unequal-sized eyes - maybe I should ask an 8-year old what s/he thinks about it.
Right now it can be printed on shirts in rainbow colors (wear a different-colored shirt each day).
